We are thrilled to announce the return of RootBound in 2024, a four-day celebration of music, arts, and landcare, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mungalla Station's coastal wetlands in Nywaigi Country, east of Ingham, Queensland. After an inspiring and unforgettable event in 2023, we are excited to bring you an even more incredible festival experience in 2024.

RootBound Festival is not just another music festival; it is a unique convergence of creativity, environmental stewardship, and cultural celebration. Our mission is to create a space where music, art, and nature coexist harmoniously, fostering a deep connection between attendees and the land we call home. Through this shared experience, we aim to promote sustainability, Indigenous culture, and the preservation of our precious ecosystems.

Stay tuned for further updates, including application launch and volunteer opportunities. Together, let's create a festival that inspires, connects, and leaves a lasting legacy.

❗ BEWARE, MAP APPS MIGHT STEER YOU WRONG ❗

Mungall directions.jpg

It seems the digital maps might have a little catching up to do, because they sometimes send people down a disused road that doesn’t connect up to the property anymore.

Most of the time, typing “RootBound Festival” or “Mungalla Station” into your map app will do the trick, but here are the directions just in case:

From Ingham, head down Forrest Beach Rd towards Forrest Beach. The Mungalla Station turnoff will be on your right, about 12 km down the road, past the Victoria Sugar Mill. Look for the large grove of mango trees on the right that frame the entrance to the property. You should be able to spy the big colourful RootBound banner on the side of the road. Turn onto the track and follow the road down to the festival.

Please drive carefully along the unsealed roads, and try not to stir up dust. Once you’re nearing the festival site, please keep your speed to 10 km/h to ensure everyone’s safety 😇
